JEC World 2026: What we learned

We’re back in Dublin after an intense, yet rewarding week at JEC World 2026 in Paris Nord Villepinte. For most of the team, this was their first experience of JEC and it is safe to say that they got a lot out of it.

Úna, our Head of Marketing and Communications said, “I’m so impressed with JEC! Who knew a composites conference could be so exciting! I’m already looking forward to next year.”

JEC is an opportunity to connect with customers, old and new, scout out new suppliers and partners and learn about the latest developments and innovations in the industry. Much of the team was on a fact-finding mission, critical to unlocking success in their role.

For example, our Head of Manufacturing, Con, was looking to speak with suppliers as, this year, we begin pilot production for SoundBounce ceiling tiles. Meanwhile, technical team members, Rhys and Sebastian, looked at use cases, testing equipment and competitors in the advanced acoustic material space.

One of the highlights of the conference was seeing our CTO, Eimear, speak on the Women in Composites panel on the third day.

The panel, titled ‘Beyond Boundaries: Evolving Leadership in Composites – Women (and Men) Shaping the Future’ featured Women in Composites Industry President, Marcy Offner, Tahira Ahmed of Curve Works, Andrea Shen of Brunswick Corporation and Chris Skinner of Owens Corning.

Eimear stressed the importance of bringing new voices, and therefore new ideas to the industry, and spoke about the mentors who supported her in bringing SoundBounce to market over the last ten years.

In addition to the panel, the Lios team attended the Women in Composites lunch and networking event. It’s empowering to see how much female representation has grown in recent years at JEC World. Despite this, women are still majorly underrepresented in the composites industry and we understand that Lios is one of the few all-female founded companies present at the show every year.

Lios CEO, Rhona, was focused on meeting with investors during the Investor Day event on the second day of JEC.  Despite our large presence, Lios were not exhibiting at JEC World this year. This gave us ample opportunity to explore and collect ideas for exhibiting next year. Úna gathered materials and ideas from other companies for next year.
