Last week, CEO Rhona Togher, travelled to Trieste in Italy for the EIC Corporate Day with Fincantieri, one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups. The EIC Corporate Partnership Programme aims to connect EIC-backed start-ups and SMEs with established businesses looking to solve their most complex challenges.
In vessels and submarines, noise and vibration impact passengers and crew: stealth, structural vibration, crew fatigue, passenger experience and overall vessel efficiency are all affected.
One of the main challenges facing the industry is low-frequency noise. It is also the hardest to solve. Existing materials which tackle low-frequency noise are bulky and heavy, and they clash with industry’s goal to become lighter, more energy efficient and sustainable.
Lighter, thinner noise reduction
Lios has developed SoundBounce to solve this challenge. Our advanced material technology is a game-changer for the marine industry. SoundBounce is thinner, lighter and more effective at blocking low-frequency noise. It is also non-toxic and fully recyclable at end-of-life.
